"I should trust Liz Lemon" could be some sort of weird motto, I think. It probably works in all kinds of situations.
I studied abroad in Scotland, thereby avoiding that whole language thing. Well, almost. When you're talking to the toothless old groundskeeper with a thick Scottish accent, he may as well be speaking a different language, right?

We study abroad advisers like to trick you people going to UK/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand/etc. into thinking that you're not going to have to learn any foreign languages while you're there. Well, maybe not languages, but you'll certainly be confronted with unexpected communication problems!
I did it!
Language week is the only thing that could make me come out of hibernation. Sad/glad.
