Such a well-rounded individual with so many varied interests
It's summer and there's no TV to watch. (Except hey, did you know the cast of The Office is playing Celebrity Family Feud tonight against the cast of American Gladiators?) So in these sad days when Celebrity Family Feud is the most exciting thing on, let's revisit TV as once we knew it, because I am a boring person who has no other interests outside of TV and therefore I am unable to blog about anything else.
These are my favorite episodes of some of my favorite shows:
- Favorite episode of 30 Rock (easy): Tracy Does Conan. ("Blue man! You’re going to tell me my feet stink?... Blue man! Blue man, where your feet at?")
- Favorite episode of The Office (easy): The Injury
- Favorite episode of How I Met Your Mother (easy): Slap Bet
- Favorite episode of The Simpsons (pretty easy): 22 Short Films About Springfield
- Favorite episode of The Mighty Boosh (not as easy): The Nightmare of Milky Joe
- Favorite episode of Corner Gas (hmmmm): Happy Campers. I am not totally certain about this, but it DOES have the "good hair day" jingle and Davis's excessive enthusiasm for camping.
- Favorite episode of The IT Crowd (hmmmm): I'm gonna go with The Work Outing
- Favorite episode of Flight of the Conchords (getting harder¹): Girlfriends? It's hard to choose. Foux de fa fa!
- Favorite episode of Lost (even harder): maybe The Other Woman, just for the ham and the dinner rolls and "You're mine!"
- Favorite episode of Arrested Development (hardest of all): It's so hard to choose just one, because one of the reasons the series is funny is because of the running gags and jokes that build and build across episodes. I'm gonna go with The Immaculate Election, because it's got ¡Steve Holt!, the heavy-handed GOB/!Steve Holt! foreshadowing, Mrs Featherbottom and the Star Wars tape. If only it had an appearance from Barry Zuckerkorn or The Literal Doctor!

Favorite episode of The Simpsons has to be This Little Wiggy (Ralph's always been my favorite), followed closely by the chili cookoff one. ("In your face, Space Coyote!" "Space Coyote??")
I have seen "Corner Gas" only once. That's a show good enough to warrant a favorite episode? Maybe I should give it another chance.

I don't watch enough TV to contribute to the other shows but my favorite episode for Lost this last season has to be "The Constant". I thought the writing was great and the Desmond and Penny story had a lot of heart. I'm also having a little nerd-crush on Daniel Faraday :)

@Stefanie - I LOVE Corner Gas! You should give it another try. Too bad the whole episode of Blog River isn't online!
@Serene - That WAS a good episode.
I didn't mean to limit it to the shows I'd already listed, either. You guys can tell me your favorite episodes of Buffy or The Golden Girls or CSI: Miami, too. I wonder what my favorite Ugly Betty episode is...

The Work Outing is my favorite IT Crowd episode, too. Confession: I've gotten that "I love willies" song stuck in my head before.
Other favorites (all British comedy edition):
IT Crowd made me think of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, so favorite episode of that-- The Creeping Moss from the Shores of Shuggoth. Just for the "One Track Lover" part alone.
Black Books--The Grapes of Wrath
The Young Ones--Bambi
I have a hard time picking favorites of anything, but I am sure of these.

I feel exceptionally uncool in that, while I do watch a lot of tv... I don't know a single name of an episode of any of my regularly scheduled programs. Except Top Chef. When "Zoo Wars" was definitely my favorite. But, seriously? Do they name the episodes of 7th Heaven?

"22 Short Films" is a great one. My favorite Simpsons episode is probably "Last Exit to Springfield" which is the dental plan episode or "El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer" which is the one where Homer goes on his spiritual journey finding his soul mate. The tougher question for me would be what is my favorite Scrubs episode.
Corner Gas-Blog River. Mighty Boosh-I can't remember the title, but Vince and Howard make out and there's a bouncy castle. 30 Rock-Blind Date was the episode that sold me on the show. It Crowd-Moss and the German & The Work Outing
