Coka, coka, coka, coh! Cha chee, cha chee, cha chee cha! Ah coodle doodle do, ah coodle doodle do! Coo coo cha cha, coo coo cha cha!

I hate mascots and clowns and people in big puffy animal costumes¹. I can't believe that there's an actual human being under there somewhere... it's just a horrible beast that has been sent to torment and terrify me. When we went to Zehnder's on Sunday for the Mothers' Day Brunch, I kept an eye on the creepy chicken mascot as he made his way around the room. If he came near me, I decided, I was going to sneer and say, "Happy Mother's Day! I just ate yours."

¹ Which is weird because "gorilla suit" is my go-to answer when someone asks me what would be appropriate attire for a certain occasion, such as a wedding or job interview.

Ok, first of all, that would actually have been an awesome response to the chicken.

Second, why does this place have a chicken mascot walking around? That seems really odd to me. Granted, the entire idea of Frankenmuth seems creepy to me, so I'm probably not the best judge.

I don't have a fear of mascots or people in animal costumes, but I do generally dislike them and feel uncomfortable when they are around. I think it's mostly because the people inside the costume are obnoxious and so desperate for attention that they will do anything for it, even if it means humiliating themselves and annoying everyone else.

I guess my "fear" is more like that too. I just know if one actually got close enough to me for me to tell him I ate his mom, I would probably yelp and run away rather than actually saying it.

I really do want you to just punch them. I'm not afraid of the people-ones, but the machine ones? Like at Chucky Cheese? I would TOTALLY run. I'm pretty sure that's how I will die- smashed by the Chucky Cheese Robots.

In other news, I'm going to a conference tomorrow, and don't know what to wear. Should I just go rent the gorilla suit now?

Yes, this is exactly the type of situation that calls for a gorilla suit.

Sounds like animatronic animals are part of your Super Fear!

Several years ago, Goofy was my valentine.

Pahahaha! I wish you'd actually gotten a chance to say that to the mascot. I can't STAND people in mascot costumes. So damn creepy.
