I like where I are/ When I can, find my car

I am apparently senile. This morning I walked out the door to go to work, looked out at the parking lot and discovered my car was not there. I momentarily freaked out. I had just been talking to my Arabic professor this week about how what little crime there is in Srahtown usually consists of crimes of opportunity, and how I've managed to avoid anything so far by a) not getting drunk, b) not being out on the streets at 3am, when all of these incidents seem to occur and c) locking my doors. Now here I was, being so responsible and I was STILL a victim!

Fortunately my senility did not last long enough for me to call the police and report my car stolen.

Last night I attempted to combine a few of my errands. I had to a) get some more steps, b) go to the library and c) go to Kroger. Kroger is located between my apartment and the library, so the best solution seemed to be to start far away and work my way closer. With the idea that I might buy some frozen foods and want to get them home quickly and that dark was approaching, I drove to Kroger, left my car in the parking lot, then walked from there to the library. I walked back from the library, shopped at Kroger, then walked home. This didn't seem unusual to me at the time, because I only had one bag of groceries and I frequently walk to and from Kroger.

So this morning I walked to Kroger, then drove from there. I had over 2000 steps on my pedometer by the time I got into work. Not bad! I should do this more often... but not with all the panicking about car-thievery.

WHAT THE HECK? I called you and you said you were walking. I gave you crap about walking at night and not driving if you were going to be out after dark and you managed to forget then and later that you had driven? Eesh.

Why do I have a blog, if not to be dissed by my mom?

My mom uses my blog to diss me too. Sometimes she has the manners to email the diss instead of putting it in the comments box, but only when it's grammar-related.

Maybe they saw the SNL sketch and thought it was about dissing your dog-ter.

Wait - you left your car at Kroger? They didn't tow it? That's amazing.

There have been many times that I've gone out the door to go to work, and have NO IDEA where I parked my car the evening before. Usually, I'm so tired after work that in my trance-like state I just park the car and somehow find myself in front of the TV. It's scary.

Ha ha, big city man! Here in the small-town Midwest, there is parking galore, especially in supermarket parking lots. Plus, Kroger is open 24 hours so they wouldn't necessarily know that I wasn't in the store.
