Herein lie spoilers for American Idol and Lost. Advance at your own risk!
I can't believe I actually watched the American Idol recap show. In my defense, I was walking in circles around the apartment and just turned on the TV as background noise. I was really excited by the bottom 3, because no one good was accidentally thrown in there, but once again my wish came so close to being granted and was cruelly snatched away from me. So we have another week of Phil. Argh. America, why do you vote for him? His singing isn't great, he's painful to look at, he makes poor song choices and - lest we forget - he missed his daughter's birth in order to try out for a TV reality show! Do not vote for Phil! Stop it now! He burns my eyeballs (and my earballs and my thinkballs).
The terrible thing about this season is that I have no desire to rank people in the order that I like them, but rather in the order I want them to get kicked off. And that is:
- PHIL GO HOME
- Chris (who sounds like Justin Timberlake, i.e. "bad")
- Sanjaya (not even as annoying as the others)
- Melinda (I'm tired of her false modesty)
- Lakisha (needs to start smiling)
- Jordin (who leapt up the charts for me in the last couple of weeks)
- Blake (who isn't even a good singer, but has enough charisma and stage presence to fake it)
It's Country Night next week. I will hide under a blanket and you can tell me when Phil is gone.
Fortunately, Stupid Lost was actually pretty good this week. We got back to Old School Lost, where nothing would happen for 50 minutes, then in the last 10 minutes there would be some weird twist or surprise ending. This is preferable to New School Lost, where nothing happens for 50 minutes, then in the last 10 minutes, nothing happens. I actually don't care what happens in the rest of the episode, as long as I get my surprise ending. I hope that Juliet kills all of the Losties except Sayid and they live happily every after.

Yeah, I didn't even watch American Idol last night, but it was on in the other room and I wondered if it could be the night that Phil was going away, but alas, no. Haley and her legs are gone.
I thought the episode of Lost was pretty awesome last night, which was nice because I haven't thought an episode of Lost was awesome for a long long time. I sometimes wonder if my standards have lowered, though.
