Monday: There is only one good half-hour of TV on Monday, and that's usually available online. So I watched Desk Set instead. I have to admit, to my great shame, that I've never watched that movie all the way through. But I quite enjoyed it and its paranoia about the Awesome Power of Computers.

Tuesday: I read a lot of television reviews and recaps of my favorite shows and no one has pointed out that the highlight, shining high above this rather mediocre episode of House, was that House's lawyer was Dwayne Wayne. DWAYNE WAYNE! He's a lawyer now! I didn't really care about the episode - all I cared about was how many times DWAYNE WAYNE would reappear. The second awesomest thing is that Cameron almost got strangled to death.

Wednesday: Nadia and Mario are smartsy. You don't send the worst people to the elimination room; you send the best. And those are Andrea and Sheree. Sheree, however, was saddled with a really inept and sort of offensive Geek (Seriously, you just drew a boob? Seriously?), so she's out. The worst part of the show was right before the elimination round, when the host explained that the Beauties had learned about air and space travel and the Geeks had learned that they had to listen to women, so their questions would be on "things that women like, like makeup and fashion and pop culture." Yeah, awesome. Beauty and the Geek probably should have offended me long before now, but how about if we point out that those are things that the Beauties are interested in, and not make it sound like that is all that the entire female sex ever thinks about¹. Next week: Makeovers! Hooray! It's not so much that I love Beauty and the Geek Makeover Week, as that I want it to come as early as possible in the season so that no one I like gets kicked off the show before I get to see their madeover selves. My money's on Scooter for Dreamboat of the Season, but I'm sure there will turn out to be some huge surprise lurking 'neath Nate's scraggly beard².

After that, the stupid president was on every channel, so I had to turn off the TV.

Thursday: Dwight loves Angela more than he loves Dunder-Mifflin! It is so sad and so adorable! Why didn't she say something? Surely it's better to have your relationship public than to have him gone altogether, Monkey! Dwight will be back, though. It's only a matter of time. But in the meantime, what will Dunder-Mifflin be like without Dwight? And more importantly, will we have to visit him at the beet farm and see more of Cousin Mose? I love Cousin Mose.

Also, Phyllis is totally awesome for spilling the Jim/Pam beans to Karen, and I like to think she did it on purpose to try to get those two crazy kids back together. Unfortunately, Karen seemed to accept Jim's answer that he used to have a crush on Pam and doesn't anymore, but I think it will plant a little seed of something in both of their heads and lead to the inevitable end. I'm sure we still have at least half a season to go before we have any significant Jim-Pam drama - they'll save that for the finale!

Friday: I don't watch TV on Fridays.
