Rainless in Seattle

The Space NeedleSeattle has a reputation for being bleak and rainy all the time. However, in my vast experience with that city¹, there has been no such weather. When apete and I were in Seattle last weekend, the sun shone warmly down on us every single day. I think I got a sunburn in freaking Seattle. We were told that Seattle only gets 54 days of sunshine all year, so apparently I used up 7% of Seattle's sunshine in one weekend visit.

I think it's all lies. I think Seattle is trying to keep the tourists out. It never actually rains in Seattle. The dead grass is spray-painted green and the dead trees are decorated with green cotton candy² instead of leaves. Or perhaps they're all cardboard trees to start with. Boy were the founders of Seattle surprised when they went to harvest the valuable timber and found out all the forests were made out of cardboard!

Anyway, I just wanted to let Seattle know that I'm on to your little tricks and your claims of inclement weather will not keep me away. I will come out there again and bask in your warm sunshine, whether you like it or not!

For now I'm back in Ohio, where the weather all week has been... bleak and rainy.

¹ 3.5 days

² Green cotton candy? Why don't they make cotton candy in green? Would people eat it?
