Note to archivists: HCI pwned j00!
Tuesday is my big day for watching TV, by which I mean I actually watch TV. The only times I do this with anything approaching regularity are Sunday night's Adult Swim lineup and Tuesday (basically 7-10 because... hell, it's already on...).
Usually before our big American Idol get-together, we turn on the TV for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!. Last night, one of the contestants on Wheel of Fortune introduced herself as an "interface architect." Pat Sajak was obviously confused by this job title but she said something along the lines of, "You know interfaces? I architect them." Hooray for inexplicable educational backgrounds and career paths! With her propensity for using nouns as verbs and ours for using mangled fields of study as job titles*, I wouldn't have been surprised if she had graduated from the School of Information.
I just thought it was notable because you don't see a lot of "interface architects" on TV and because she totally kicked ass and solved every single puzzle including the $25,000 bonus round at the end. I've never seen an archivist do that!
