Can you taste that? That's the taste of no preservatives, just pure unadulterated lard. And a little sugar. And some flour to hold it together. All stuffed with jelly. This is the beauty of the paczek.
It is indeed a fine time of year to live in Michigan. This is our reward for December and January and that of winter that is yet to come. Handily, it also serves as insulation.
My favorite flavor of pączki? Red.

I translated Fat Tuesday into "Eat all the paczkis in one sitting". Actually, I divided it into two days, but I still ate WAY more than I should have.
Lemon here. Not that I am buying any this year. Don't need the extra insulation.
