What if?
While ragging on a class for doing a crappy job on the first paper of the year, I think a few things should be taken into consideration. If no one has followed the directions correctly and no one has done the assignment correctly, is this a reflection on student performance, or perhaps something deeper? Is this a problem with student interpretation of the directions or, dare I say it, the directions themselves?
This is, you will understand, all completely hypothetical and did not happen this morning.
