The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.
It's time for another giveaway!
If you're not familiar with Sanditon, it's one of Jane Austen's unfinished works. When she abandoned the work in 1817 (months before her death) it consisted of the first eleven chapters, which have been picked up and completed by several authors over the years. This version, published in 1975, is attributed to Jane Austen "and another lady" (it has also been attributed to Marie Dobbs and Anne Telscombe, one or both of which may be pseudonyms for the actual author). Here's the premise of the book:
When Charlotte Heywood accepts an invitation to visit the newly fashionable resort of Sanditon, she is introduced to a full range of polite society, from the local reigning dowager Lady Denham and her impoverished ward Clara, to the handsome, feckless Sidney Parker and his amusing, if hypochondriacal, sisters. A heroine whose clearsighted common sense is often at war with romance, Charlotte cannot help observing around her both folly and passion in many guises. But can the levelheaded Charlotte herself resist the attractions of the heart?

Jane Austen's real life first love story kinda resembles that of one of her heriones, Marianne Dashwood. She was in love with the Irish nephew of her close friend, but when the friend knew she hurried him out of the country as she didn't want him to marry a nobody and lose his inheritance. Maybe this is the inspiration for Marianne!

Fun fact about England--while I almost never find my (unusual) first name on those personalized keychain, bookmark, or mug racks in the U.S., it's often there in the U.K.!
Thanks for the chance to win!

Austen wrote a short novel called Lady Susan, and its heroine is what Wikipedia refers to as a sexual predator.
My fave novel of hers is probably Emma, also love Pride and Prejudice.
The first musical concept for Pride and Prejudice was, uh, conceived in 1995. This was unbeknownst to me and my co-worker Katie when we came up with the idea in 2007.
Also, this from wackopedia...
"In February 2009, it was announced that Elton John's Rocket Pictures production company was making a film, Pride and Predator, based on the story, but with the added twist of an alien landing in Longbourne."
