Right! Whatever that means!

Hey lady, you, lady!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=r-vx4GcjASE

I'm kind of obsessed with "I've Never Been to Me" today, after having woken up with it in my head this morning. It's sort of depressing, because I am neither living the kind of boring, discontented suburban life that Charlene longs for, nor have I spent my life exploring the subtle whoring that costs too much to be free. I must be missing out on something.

I've never been to Georgia or California or Nice or the isle of Greece¹ or even moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo. In fact, there is only one part of the whole song that applies to me: I have seen some things that a woman ain't s'posed to see.

¹ Which isle? Not that it matters, because I haven't been to any of them. I have been to the aisle at a production of Grease, though.

*G* You should watch Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. "Never been to me" features in the film and on the soundtrack.

Nice. I like what you link to when you talk about those things a lady shouldn't see.

Well, I was in California for a few minutes last summer. And hopefully (ticket prices willing!) I will be in the spring, too.

This song makes me want to watch the episode of Black Books where Bernard and Manny house-sit and drink the guy's £7000 wine, and Fran goes on a date with a gay man.

Roight! I have no idea what that means, but I shall weigh in with my opinion as soon as I have searched for it on the Internet.

Get thee to youtube for and look for episodes of Black Books! Warning: it may make you want to aspire to be a terrible book shop owner who drinks wine all day and is completely rude to customers.

I'm four and a half minutes in to that episode now. :)

I am a giant ear... waiting... for your songs of niceness.
