Haiku is a way/ to make a boring entry/ tons more interesting
Srah has a craving
for couscous, although she would
accept tabouleh.
Searching for restaurants?
Fruitless. The school dining halls
Likewise are devoid.
Couscous here must be
prepared at home, which is not
Feasible for lunch.
Alas.

Soak couscous tonight
for tabbouleh tomorrow.
Chop up tomato,
then add cilantro.
American semantics
fuck up my haiku.
English 'cilantro'
is 'coriander', but that's
just four syllables!
Cilantro is five.
Serve with moutabel, pitta,
and kibbeh. Enjoy!

waitress in a Lebanese
restaurant years ago.
