Written in the style of an elementary school field trip report

I went to the zoo today with my friends and I saw some penguins and I saw some butterflies and I saw a lot of birds and someone threw up in the bird house and I found out how frogs and salamanders make babies and I saw a monitor lizard and it stuck its tongue out at me and I saw a crocodile but it didn't do anything. And I saw some camels and I saw part of a tiger's shoulder but he was sleeping under a tree so I didn't see any more and we saw some lions and the boy lion was climbing on the girl lion and the zoo has the girl lion because she used to live in a crack house and be their guard but then she got too big and they were mean to her so the zoo took her and now she's happy because they feed her and treat her good and people come to see her. Then we saw lemurs and the lemurs were pooping and then someone fed the monkeys and the monkeys ate fruit and vegetables and their food looked good and they ate it like people and ran on their back legs. And we didn't see any elephants because there aren't any elephants anymore because it was too cold and the elephants were lonely so they sent them to live in California. And I saw a lot of peacocks and Cari wanted to touch the peacocks and she chased the peacocks and followed them but they ran away. And I saw a giraffe and it was eating and it was funny and then a hippopotamus went into the water and it made a funny noise when it came out of the water and it was funny. We saw some kangaroos and they might have had babies in their pouches but I don't know because they were in the pouches so I couldn't see them. Oh my god, is anyone still reading this? Because I just scanned through it and it was kind of painful to read. Anyway, we saw some anteaters and they were funny looking like some kind of combination of a carpet and a vacuum cleaner and I saw a little deer called a pudú and it comes from Chile and we saw some bald eagles and a peregrine falcon and they couldn't fly so the zoo took them to keep them safe and we went to the Arctic exhibit and we saw polar bears and lots of seals and one of the seals swam over our heads! And then we got ice cream!

[Seriously... we went to the Detroit Zoo today and it was lots of fun. Once the overwhelming groups of school kids left, the zoo was peaceful and navigable and it was really nice to see the animals and actually get excited about them. And we learned a lot about the reproductive habits of lots of different kinds of animals.]

Fantastic summary of the day. I'm surprised you didn't mention Harry Potter and the Basilisk. Some elementary school kid you are!

Sorry. You're a better elementary school kid than I am. Must be the height!

I saw a monkey sneezing on the side of the road today at the yoga ashram. Two days ago, as we drove to the yoga ashram, I saw an elephant on the side of the road. I see cows everyday walking through the streets of Bangalore. In India, you don't need to go to the zoo to see wild life.

I went to the Detroit Zoo a couple weeks ago and I *saw* how frogs make babies! And at the Cleveland zoo this week (you should come visit me, I can get us in for free! (I'm bribing you)), I saw a sea lion who I decided was having a baby right there!

Does the Cleveland Zoo have walruses? It's my dream to see a walrus.

No, but they have elephants.
