Language Week Three: Electric Beagle-ey

It's that time of year again...

July 4 - 8, 2005

There are rules!:

  • Blog in a language that you don't usually blog in. You don't have to blog a lot if you don't want to - a few sentences will do, as long as you continue, once a day, through the week (or at least Monday to Friday). You can blog in one foreign language for five days, you can blog in five different languages or you can find some medium between the two. What the hell. If you only want to blog in Swedish once on Tuesday, go for it.
  • It would be nice, but not necessary, to include some kind of translation into your usual blogging language. I usually do mine in other language tags. You might choose to write it all out and translate at the end. You could hide it in the post's extension. Whatever. Be free! Be wild!
  • You can link back to this post if you want. Or not. If you don't want. Here's an icon!
  • If you're participating, please leave a comment or a trackback and let me know. This way you can all read each other's and be inspired when you can't think of anything to say and you can make new blogging friends and we'll all live happily ever after.

Is it proper to put a colon after an exclamation point? No, I think not. :-P

Can I blog in Arabic but type out the Arabic in English? For instance, "ana esmee Noor" is "My name is Noor" but it isn't in the Arabic alphabet.

Oh no, here we go again!

Noor: Sounds good to me! I think I wrote a post in Chinese pinyin (phonetic spelling) last year!

I will be participating. Maybe not blog every day, but porbably more than usual. (Not that that's very hard...) Thanks for the reminder.

    Probably, even!

    *eyerolls at typos*
    *because I'm anal that way*

    gravatar srah - June 29, 2005 - 9:37 AM -

Actually, I *wasn't* even thinking of you!

    gravatar Armin - June 29, 2005 - 2:17 PM -

OK then, I'm in. Especially after noticing that a certain Scot in Paris is in. Apparently.

Because I can then use the feedback he sent me for this entry.

Jawohl, das ist ein sehr guter Plan. Doch, wirklich.

    gravatar Jamie - June 29, 2005 - 5:28 PM -

Ha. How cool is that? I think I will take part, because basically it's very easy for me, *if* I decide to blog in German. I might just decide to do it in French. I need to prove myself every once in a while.

    gravatar katie - June 29, 2005 - 8:47 PM -

Of course I'll do it...if I remember. Erg.

    gravatar christina - June 30, 2005 - 5:18 PM -

    gravatar Marisa - July 4, 2005 - 12:13 AM -

Okay, this Englishman will try Swabian dialect, although I might end up switching to hochdeidsch if I think I'm doing a really bad job of it or get my Schwäbisch, Badisch and Allemannisch too mixed up.

    gravatar J - July 4, 2005 - 8:35 AM -

Count me in, Christina's forcing me to do it :)

    gravatar elemmaciltur - July 4, 2005 - 9:08 AM -
