Boy, stop crying wolf!
The smoke detector keeps chirping but nothing is cooking or burning.
Now the tornado siren is going off and neither the TV nor weather.com nor the bright sky outside leads me to believe that there is actually a tornado going on.
Are you trying to FRIGHTEN me to death? Just burn me or tornado me already, for heaven's sake. Is it some kind of Friday the 13th prank?

I was just going to suggest you check the batteries on the detector, but Mr. B***** beat me to it. He is so smart.
Sounds like someone was home alone.

You should learn to change them for your own protection. Merely flip the top off, pull out the battery and replace it. However, you have to have the right battery (9 V). I can do it, but usually leave that for the man of the house since he is much taller and can do it w/o a step ladder.
Are the batteries running low in the detector?
After the hail and thunder, the siren kind of makes sense... :(
