Empty threats

I went to the store today to buy my digital camera. It was 11 cents more expensive there than on Amazon, but I wouldn't have to pay for shipping so it ended up being cheaper.

We stood at the digital camera counter for five minutes while the assistant chatted with another customer. She looked in our direction once then turned back to the customer and continued talking. Bad service makes me snarky and mean. I started loudly announcing that I was going to buy the camera on the Internet, even though I knew I was just going to stand there and wait. Finally I walked off and found another salesman and told him that I wanted to buy a digital camera but no one was helping me.

I pointed out the camera in the display and he wandered away to look it up in the computer, then informed me that they were no longer selling that model. IF YOU AREN'T SELLING IT, WHY IS IT ON DISPLAY? WHY DID I WAIT HERE FOR TEN MINUTES IF I CAN'T EVEN BUY IT?

"Well," my mom announced, "I should tell them that I won't be shopping at Circuit City anymore!"

"That's a nice sentiment," I responded, "But I don't think they'll take it very seriously, since we're at CompUSA."

I bought it at Amazon instead.

I hate it when I'm confronted with bad customer service and I realize once again that though I bitch about everything all the time, the only times I should bitch I stay quiet and polite.

I blame it on me being a harmony-addicted Libra.

'Yeah, well, I know that you should treat me nicely and stuff, because I'm your effing customer, but come on, give it to me, lady. Be unfriendly as hell and don't you dare offer any help. And, while we're at it, can we be friends? Please...?'

Or you could be a middle child who craves peace and compromise although there is a lot of truth in those zodiac signs. I have so many Gemini traits that it can't be a coincidence.

The Canon SD110. It's being discontinued, which means it's marked down! A lot of the other Canons seemed out of my price range, especially with all of the extra memory cards and other accessories you have to buy to go with it.
