Mutants everywhere!
In one of the classes I'm considering for this semester, we looked today at Cirque de Soleil's business model. As this is technically an undergraduate class, we began with ten minutes of a Cirque de Soleil video. After ten minutes, the professor stopped and said, "Who would pay $100 to continue watching?" referring to Cirque de Soleil's ticket prices.
I would have paid $100 to stop watching. I know everyone's in love with Cirque de Soleil and for this reason, I tried to give them a chance. But I basically see them as bendy, balancey, new-Age-music-dancing clowns. And it is a well-known fact that clowns suck.
I did the wrong week's readings, I'm four years older than everyone, I've ended up in a project group that thinks doing a project on Merrill Lynch would be "interesting" (horrors! Must try to convince them otherwise!) and I'm watching clown videos. I feel uncomfortable.

Yeah. "Merrill Lynch" and "interesting". Those don't belong together, like, ever.
