Would you rather...
- be trapped in a room for an hour with 15 scorpions OR one rabid dog?
I guess it would be easier to run away from or fight off. Plus, it wouldn't crawl on you. *shudder*
- grow hairy palms OR go blind?
Palms can be shaved or waxed... if I were blind I wouldn't be able to enjoy Isidore half as much. - be addicted to alcohol OR gambling?
Hmmmm. If I can be an artist and produce lots of tortured works, then sure. I don't really fancy gambling, so it doesn't seem like it would be as pleasant to be addicted to. - save an old lady from a flood OR a dog from a fire?
Human being over canine! Plus, she might leave me money in her will! Plus... hot dog!

1) it depends on how big the room is, altho i think i would pick the scorpions over the dog, because dogs can jump
2) hairy palms - i depend too much on my eyes
3) addicted to gambling, because at least the gambling wouldn't kill me (it may make me poor...)
4) save an old lady -- and maybe she's carrying the dog in her purse (so i can save both at the same time!)

1. Scorpions, for the reasons stated above
2. Hairy palms, even though the idea crees me out, at least I could still see
3. alcohol, I don't want to lose all my money
4. if no one is looking, the dog (1000 points if you know the Virginia Wolfe quote)
How about channelling the flood so it douses the fire? Hey presto - two lives saved!
And if you're wearing some hefty boots, you can squish the scorpions, but you'd be hard pressed to do anything about Cujo.
