Oh, English, you kooky language!

What is the past tense of "forego"? "I forewent" sounds funny, so I usually just skip to the pluperfect - "I have forgone."

Not that anyone cares. Blah. Sleeping time!

A hamster or gerbil? that implies some tiny, squeakish laugh -- srah's is much bigger and louder, like some large bird (maybe a goose?) that's gasping for air ;)
