Yet another Alternative Spring Break: being tackled by Secret Servicemen
SI has a program called Alternative Spring Break, where SI students go to New York and Washington, DC during the week-long break and do projects for real live organizations to use SI-learned skills and gain new skills and experience.
I'd been hearing about this trip all year and had kind of thought about it, but hadn't given it much serious consideration until Young Matthew emailed me and asked me if I was going. I finally checked out the website, realized I had two days before applications were due, got my rear in gear, applied, and was accepted this week.
So later this month I'll be off to Our Nation's Capital to update the website of the Center for Democracy and Technology and do a bit of sight-seeing on the side. Our hotel is apparently right nearby the White House, so I will be close enough to spit on the president.
But I won't, because my mommy says I oughtn't.

Oh, but spitting is so much fun! I've heard that DC is like a gray a white wasteland during the winter because all the buildings are marble and whatever's gray and then it's all covered with snow and griminess associated with snow. I hope that you have a lovely time though. :)

We have to write a report?! Oh no... who recommended this ASB thing?... ;)
Congrats on your ASB entree. That's awesome.
