CNN has gone insane

I always thought that CNN was a source for serious news coverage and things like that. Here are the two CNN links I've come across most often lately:

It's splitsville for Barbie and Ken - Why is this written completely straight, as though they were real people?

"[The vice president of marketing at Mattel] hinted Wednesday that the separation may be partially due to Ken's reluctance to getting married. All those bridal Barbie dolls in toy chests around the globe are really just examples of Barbie's wishful thinking, she explained."

What planet is Mattel living on? My Barbies and Kens always got married. And Ken married not only Barbie, but also Perfume Pretty Midge and Kelly from Beverly Hills 90210. I think Mattel and CNN are both smoking something.

I never had a Ken. When I was very young (read 3 yrs or younger) I think I had a Barbie that had a very shiny ball gown, or something. But she must not have survived the move to Vermont. At one point someone gave me a Skipper doll, but I got pissed off with that really quick because the clothes were so hard to get on and off.

But let me tell you, I had the biggest freakin' collection of My Little Pony clothes and accessories you've ever seen!

well, maybe Ken was upset about how my Barbies always went for other Barbies instead of him?

I only had one Ken and usually he would only marry one Barbie/other per game. I didn't have an ongoing game - they had different names and situations each time, so usually one would be married to Ken and the others would be her sisters and friends.

I so know what you are talking about. I only had one Ken also....I would have Barbie and her friends fight over him.....makes me think of all my childhood memories, playing house with my Barbies.
