The full extent of my political involvement

I hereby vow to donate $5 to Dubya's campaign fund if the State of the Union address begins:

"My fellow Americans, the state of the union is... it sux0rs."

And he has to pronounce it "sucksors" or it's a no-go.

Update (21:12): Sucks to be you, Georgie! Them five bucks is gettin' spent on bubble tea!

Dammit. Now I want bubble tea.

Oh well. It used to be that I craved it but it couldn't be had in this whole dang state.

Oh I love you - at first I didn't like this entry, but then you make it impossible to win! hooray!

and thank goodness I'm missing that. I hate the state of the union - have not watched it in YEARS! (2002 I was intentionally wasting time and gas while driving and heard some stuff but kept the radio on music and I don't know what I was doing 2003 - maybe the same, maybe I was out with friends, maybe my family respected my choice, who knows). Mostly because I can't watch Bush speak. I learned this in 2001 when I lashed out after 9/11 and yelled "I hate you, oh my god I hate you" at the tv. It was weird - like it came from deep inside of me and my mind could not control it. Maybe I was channeling god.

Meh. I can always read the transcript on Yahoo tomorrow and not have to see his face or listen to the simpering applause.

Dammit!

I still haven't had my first bubble tea fix, primarily because I can't seem to find the dispensing locations, but your eloquent connection of bubble tea to Bush and how much he sucks has inspired me to go on a renewed hunt.

Bubble Island on South U. @ South Forest. :D

srah recommends: Hot milk tea with almond cream and black bubbles. $2 mediums between 11am and 1pm. Get a punch card and the sixth drink's free. :D

There's also a place on Liberty, but I went there for food once and didn't think much of it, so I'm not going to drag myself over there for the tea.

I wouldn't bother reading the transcript; it'll probably go something like
"Hello [applause], I am here today to talk about America. We love America [long applause]. You are an American [applause]. I am an American [applause]. We all are Americans [long applause]. Education! [applause] Good economy! [applause] Protection from terrorists ooh! [applause] Good night and God Bless America [standing ovation from Republicans, reserved clapping from Democrats]

And allow me to reccomend getting a straight calpico with black bubbles at bubble island

What's bubble tea?

gravatar srah - January 21, 2004 - 8:09 AM -

Bubble tea. It's sort of like sweetened tea with gummy bears in the bottom. Except that sounds gross. :)

gravatar Cheryl - January 21, 2004 - 11:23 AM -

It was awful. Bush was on every channel I get. Oh yeah, except PAX. Gotta love PAX. They brought Billy Ray Cyrus back.

gravatar Mr B------ - January 21, 2004 - 12:56 PM -

"We must go forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and all the while whirling, whirling, whirling toward freedom" [long applause].

gravatar EV - January 21, 2004 - 4:20 PM -

It was just gross. I think I've talked my fill about how gross it was. Except for Ted Kennedy, he was rad.

And I like the tea part of bubble tea, but get utterly sick of the boba after about 3, so I usually just get it without, blasphemous as that is.

gravatar frank - January 21, 2004 - 8:27 PM -

I visited Bubble Island this afternoon. The hot milk tea with almond cream and black bubbles was awesome! Thanks for the directional help.

Another convert to the Bubble Tea Way!

Mmmm... bubble tea... :9

gravatar katie - January 22, 2004 - 2:10 PM -

:( I don't think we have bubble tea in Vermont.

Oh, and I didn't even know there was a State of the Union address this week. And I was IN Washington at the time!

gravatar Justin - January 24, 2004 - 1:17 AM -

Wait. When was the State of the Union address? I'm so out of it.

gravatar srah - January 24, 2004 - 1:48 AM -

On Tuesday, silly goose!
