On extended weekends (Lament of the hourly temp)

You are paid the same
If you work Friday or not?
Not so for Sarah.

Thirty-five hours
Must be worked, even when the
Week has thirty-two.

Pauvre, dear Sarah,
My heart, it goes out to you.
I wish I could help.

But alas for you,
I have no consolation.
Instead, I say: NYAH!

Ha ha! Made you haiku!

gravatar katie - July 2, 2003 - 10:05 AM -

Haiku, what a joy!
Haiku, it is beauteous.
Haiku drives me nuts.

Aren't you glad I'm sending loads of Brits to your website, Srah?

gravatar katie - July 2, 2003 - 3:04 PM -

Ok, now the right column is completely blank. What gives?

No haiku, but...
If you can get British Channel 5 there, make sure you switch on at 10.30pm GMT. 'Circus' is on, with the delectable Mr. Hannah.

Yes, thank you, Jez.

Katie, the answer to your question is that long URLs in my recent comments don't wrap, so everything disappears under my text until more comments push those out of the way.

Sue, I wish I got British TV, but I will have to watch Circus on video instead.

gravatar katie - July 2, 2003 - 7:26 PM -

Um. That would be an answer to my question, except that I'm talking about the right column of your index page, not your comment box.

At any rate, I'm home now and it's looking fine on my home computer. Please feel free to ignore me.

It was an answer to your question. In the right column of the blog, there's a "Recent Comments" thing. When someone puts a long URL in, it doesn't wrap - it pushes everything to the left, so the contents of that column are hiding underneath my blog. It does make sense! It does!

You should be pleased you can't get British Channel 5. It's worse than the French channels, if you can imagine such a horror.

Anything that shows John Hannah movies is okay by me... even if it is Circus.
