Happy birthday, J.K. and Harry!

Rowling is our Queen,
Rowling is our Queen,
She's raking all the shillings in*,
Rowling is our Queen...

Rowling will write everything,
She won't leave out a single thing,
That's why all her readers sing:
Rowling is our Queen.

* yes, I am aware that shillings don't exist anymore, but pounds didn't fit and dollars seemed inappropriate. not that shillings isn't. shut up.

Is this supposed to be to a tune?

gravatar srah - July 31, 2003 - 4:58 PM -

Probably, but I don't know it. If you run into J.K., please ask her.

Ok, whaaaah?

It's in Book 5. I don't know the tune. I would like to, though.

I just realized that that song doesn't rhyme at all, because I rhymed everything with "king". Hellooooo.

Book 5, harumph.

Silly Harry Potter. Go read Victorian novels, like me. ;)

Heh, that's kinda cool... since you just switched the words around, the sentences are the same length.

Nerd. Oops, I got the semi-colon wrong.

gravatar katie - August 1, 2003 - 10:15 AM -

Who's more of a nerd, someone who counts characters or someone who agonizes over a semicolon?

gravatar srah - August 1, 2003 - 10:18 AM -

Debate the blogger and ye'll walk the plank! I am the biggest nerd of all!

Nice! I just finished Book 5 three days ago. And for three books before that I was reading Trollope, so for those who think Victorian novels and Harry Potter are mutually exclusive, think again.

I don't think we're arguing that they're mutually exclusive... ARE WE, KATIE??? We'd better not be. :) Just that we need more of one or the other in our diet.
