Things katie was heard to say over the weekend:
1) "Seriously, how do you have sex with a priest?"2) (to the tune of "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story) "I feel dweeby! Oh so dweeby!"
To explain:
1) There's a very nice guy at my church, who sings in my choir and is very helpful. He is in seminary to become a priest. Everyone would love me to marry him. I don't want to be married to a priest. I was telling my friend about this situation, and explaining how it would be so weird and awkward to be married to a priest.
2) This same friend has known me since before college. Way back then, I was a total dweeb. I mean, seriously. Tomboy, no style, dweeb. We haven't seen each other in a while, and I asked her, point blank, if I was less of a dweeb than before. She said yes, that I was less of a dweeb. I told her that frankly, I still feel dweeby. Subsequently, I burst into song.

Oh yeah, sorry about that. Forgot that some of you don't know that I'm Eastern Orthodox Christian. Our priests can marry.
Well, to be more specific, a man who is already married can become a priest in the orthodox church. If you're not married when you are ordained as a priest, then you are also tontured a monk, meaning you remain celibate.
So really, you can't marry a priest.

Ahh..ok. I was thinking it must be orthodox. I have some good friends who are also Russian Orthodox and we do a lot of theology 'debating' at http://babblerash.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=cfrm&s=7896090821
We're a bunch of zealots....;)
"priest" in which sense? Are we talking orthodox? certainly not catholic. I had a crush on a priest once....I'm pretty sure nothing good can come of that. Watch ThornBirds.
