absolument, c'est moi

So, I'm supposed to tell you all about myself. Er...ok. Do you really want to know? Of course you don't. But I'll tell you anyway.

I'm a historian. That's not my job at the moment, but I'll take what I can get to pay the rent. I want to be an archivist in historical collections, but I work as a computer nerd, which is why I'm always saying that srah and I really ought to switch places.

I live in Burlington, Vermont, USA. It has finally stopped snowing and is actually beginning to warm up a little.

I have lived in France twice. Once in Poitiers, and once in Paris. Paris was wonderful. I wish I had never come home. No, seriously.

I'm single. I like it that way. Except that I swoon over British accents.

I like lots of stuff. There's some stuff I don't like, too. Also, there are things that I don't know yet if I like or not.

I have absolutely no idea why people who read my blog and link to me think I'm interesting and desire to return continually.

If you're still reading this, and actually wish to know more about oh-so-exciting Katie, just ask! :)

We don't think you're interesting. We just keep coming back to laugh at you.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 1:14 PM -

Ah, yes. That makes much more sense. Thank you for clearing that up. :)

gravatar Jez - June 11, 2003 - 2:03 PM -

I have a particularly sexy British accent.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:08 PM -

Really? Ok. *swoon*

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 2:09 PM -

Me too, except mine's fake.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:29 PM -

Srah, I find it interesting that you normally do not consider yourself to be sexy, yet you have a sexy British accent.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:31 PM -

You know what just occurred to me? I've never heard any of your voices. We're all friends, yet we've never met. This, to me, is both exciting and strange at the same time.

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 2:31 PM -

Who says I'm not sexy? Woo woo!

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:32 PM -

Why did I suddenly picture you in a red sequin dress with high heels and a feather boa?

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 2:34 PM -

That's what everyone wears to work in archives. Didn't you know? Some archivist you'd make!

Are you going to publish that draft that's sitting there? Because I want to comment on it.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:37 PM -

Are you kidding? I know all about fancy clothes and shoes. I'd be a great archivist.

Oops. I didn't realize it was only a draft. I always change my settings to publish automatically.

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 2:43 PM -

Perhaps if you're lucky (?), I will record my voice sometime and put it up here.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 2:48 PM -

Now that's a concept. Recording one's voice. Is that like in The Little Mermaid, where your whole voice is encapsulated in a shell?

Perhaps you meant that you would record yourself saying a few words in your voice. If that's the case then I suggest you pick a short piece of text and record it in your natural voice and then several accents. This would allow us to choose our preferred srahvoice, similar to selecting site design skins.

Yet another intelligent idea breaks forth from Katie like Athena being born of Zeus's head.

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 2:50 PM -

First, I think Athena came out of Zeus' thigh. Or was that someone else? Secondly, I think recording my voice is the correct way to phrase it. I'm not storing my voice or capturing my voice - just recording it and setting it free again.

gravatar katie - June 11, 2003 - 3:12 PM -

Oh fine, fine. Have it your way.

Athena - head

Dionysus - thigh

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 3:25 PM -

That does make more sense that the goddess of wisdom would pop out of his head. And the god of wine and doing naughty things and having orgies would pop out of his thigh.

So you want blogvoicing capabilities?

gravatar srah - June 11, 2003 - 4:49 PM -

EEP! I am fwightened!

gravatar alfie - June 11, 2003 - 11:28 PM -

I already know what Srah sounds like. I have had the "joy" of hearing her voice over the past nineteen years.

P.S. When she laughs, she really does sound like a hamster.

gravatar katie - June 12, 2003 - 8:20 AM -

I don't know what a laughing hamster sounds like. :(

gravatar alfie - June 12, 2003 - 11:33 AM -

Very squeaky.
