The old bag
According to Meg, the average woman has 25 items in her purse. I've counted items in my backpack before, but now I'm a Grown Up and have to have a purse. It's still enormous and I might as well be carrying a backpack. So let's inventory mine now:
1. Two sets of spare contacts (I didn't know one of them was there until I started inventorying)
2. Two computer disks
3. Three Subway Sub Club cards (full of stamps and waiting for me to go to Subway and redeem them)
4. Various cards tucked into front pocket: library card, video rental cards, gift card to The Gap, etc.
5. Chilean Vitamin C tablets (yum)
6. comb
7. small yellow hair-ties (appropriate for pigtails)
8. five scraps of paper wtih important bits of information scribbled dessus
9. camera
10. extra roll of film
11. planner I hardly ever write in or consult
12. ticket telling me to pick up a registered letter at the Post Office.
13. chapstick (strawberry)
14. change purse
15. checkbook
16. wallet
17. two little notebooks
18. keys (key to keychain ratio - 1:1)
19. three pens
So that's nineteen kinds of things that add up to much more than twenty-five total items. Blargh. No wonder I need such an enormous purse.
