Book Crossing
Many people have blogged about this, but I never really paid attention. Then when I read it again at BitStream it stuck somehow. The idea of Book Crossing is that you take a book you love, register it in their database, and leave it somewhere for someone else to read and enjoy. Then that person can visit the website and register their thoughts on it. It's sort of a strange book review chain - and some people will get to read free books.
Sounds a bit like the Where's George database for one dollar bills.
