Queen Alfie I
I've decided my sister is sort of like Queen Elizabeth I. Not that it's a bad thing...
Queen Elizabeth had a lot of suitors all would have liked to marry her and take over the kingdom. Elizabeth never married, but didn't discourage the suitors from coming and trying. I have the impression that she didn't want to give up her power, but she liked the attention.
Becky has a lot of suitors as well, but they don't want to marry her. They are colleges who want her to attend. She keeps putting off the final decision (we tease that we'll have to have a televised press conference like they have for the big football players at her schools to announce which Big Ten school they'll go to). I have the impression that she's learned from me that once you've made your decision, the schools stop courting you and you become just another student. I think she likes the attention and the fact that they are all fighting over her.
I felt like telling my Tudor-Stuart England professor that, but I thought it would be really sad and weird to email him and share my little historical analogy. So I blogged it.
Enjoy.
