Celestial Ball

The Celestial Ball was great fun. I wish I still had the digital camera so I could show off everyone's dresses. Yen and Marie looked sexy. Laura wore a Vietnamese dress she bought in Hanoi. Samata and I had scarves. My dress was a big hit. I liked Stephanie's and Serafina's dresses, too. My boyfriend is a cutie patootie little duckling and he and Samata's date, Sean, appropriately played the role of Man Whore and danced with all the girls, especially those who didn't have dates. I danced like a maniac, all over the floor. We had little stereotypical foods to represent (almost) all of the Umbrella Groups - bagels and cream cheese for Jewish Student Union, chicken wings for Black Student Alliance, little pink triangle cookies for Break the Silence, etc. We ended up with a lot more food than I expected and I bet a lot of it went to waste. Most of the people there were members of Umbrella Groups and we didn't attract many people from the outside.. I bet we only sold about 50 out of the 150 tickets we printed. I hope we didn't lose too much money on this...
