Recently re-experienced:
A Wind in the Door - I reread this Monday and Tuesday nights. I just made Alex read A Wrinkle in Time and lent him A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet. I had nothing better to do, so I started rereading AWITD because I hadn't read it in several years. Then when I did have better things to do (or more important things to do, I should say), I was hooked and couldn't stop reading. Mmmmmmm, love it.
Chicken Run - I love this movie, but I fell asleep. We had to watch it in honor of the Pollito. Pok pok pok.
Return of the Jedi Special Edition - We watched this so we could hear C3PO say "ToRONto GOSH!". The Special Edition is a marked improvement in sound and picture quality, but I am veddy veddy conservative when it comes to movies and I don't like jarring new crap. I am against cutting out the "terrorist" line in E.T. and giving the federal agents walkie-talkies instead of guns. But back to RotJ. I don't mind the added celebrations on other planets, but I think the monster at Sarlaac looks like Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors and the whole dropping-Oola-in-the-Bantha-pit scene was bungled up by intersplicing new musical footage of the new digital Sy Snoodles and her new pal, the Crazy Honeycomb® Cereal Thing. They both look like they came out of Men in Black. Generally, anything added to Star Wars annoys me by looking very 90s and not very 70-80s.
