According to The 30 Days of Harry Potter, today's topic is your favorite movie, and I already missed yesterday's, which was your favorite book. So, since Gretchen and Jennie! have already done this, let's see mine:

I'd say my most important decision-making factor when ranking the books was character development, while for the movies I was basing it first on watchability (Chamber of Secrets... yawn...) and second on whether or not the male characters needed haircuts. Seriously, Goblet of Fire. Seriously.

It was mostly based on those two factors. I think all the movies frustrate me fairly equally with things they left out, and I also think that subconsciously faithfulness to the books figures in to how "good" I consider them to be.
Also, since I created this list at lunchtime, I have since changed my mind several times about the order things should be in.

And even though I just spent the last several months reviewing the series with Mark Reads... and Jason, I feel like I can't keep the books and movies separate enough from each other to remember which I like better than which. Sigh.
Um, yes, I agree about the haircuts. GOOD LORD, the haircuts.
