Can you dig it? Yes I can.
"I have it all planned out! So just want to warn you guys... when I come to Philadelphia for Fourth of July weekend, I will be wearing nothing but red, white and blue the whole time."
Normal reactions to this statement would include:
- "I rescind the invitation to Philadelphia."
- "You can come with us, but you have to walk ten feet behind us at all times."
- "Does everyone want to bring their own paper bag to wear over their head, or should I bring one for each of us?"
Fortunately, my friends' reaction was:
"Awesome. I will go to Old Navy and stock up on red t-shirts."
And that is why I keep them.
When we get there, I shall test their patience further by referring to the city as "foul, fetid, fuming, foggy, filthy Philadelphia", singing the theme from "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" anytime anyone mentions the west side of that city, and pointing out anything and everything I see that is related to the song "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago, since the Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year, and we will undoubtedly spend some time in a park.
So the question is, why do they keep me?

I had plans on singing nothing but Motown Phily, so don't worry - Robin and Harini can run from both of us.
