I said... 'Girl power.'
The Summer Olympics start today! I am always a fan of the underdog, so I won't be cheering for well-financed, popular and successful athletes like Michael "Bronzy" Phelps, who don't need my support. Instead, I will be supporting the Iraqi and Afghan female track and field runners Dina Abdul-Razak and Mehboba Ahdyar. I bet no one on the American Olympic team is receiving death threats or has to make their own uniforms!

Dennis Duffy. I'm not sure I got it quite right.

My favorite kinds of stories from the Olympics are the ones that involve people from small, poor countries who have no chance of winning, but who finish out their event anyway.

I've been watching the Olympics on our french feed. I don't understand much of it, but I get to avoid Bob Costas, which is a bonus.

i love the olympics!
NPR ran a story yesterday about the Olympics and sponsership deals. Part of the discussion mentioned "what if Phelps takes 6 and not 7" and I told the radio, I hope he gets ZERO.
He was a Navy man, and I almost joined the Marines once.
