Dancing Queen

I like to dance. I like to dance a little too much, as I dance with a wild abandon that tends to alienate friends and family. I dance what's inside me, and if you've been reading this blog long enough to catch any of my dreams, I think you'll agree that what's inside of me is probably best left inside. These wild, passionate bursts of activity tend to include a lot of flailing and spinning and hopping.

What I don't like is watching other people dance. I like to see things like The Nutcracker, but I realize that's because I like the music. I like to imagine it's me, up there on stage, clomping from foot to foot to the Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy. If I have to watch dark, badly-taped video footage of people doing modern dance gyrations to scratchy, atonal violin music, I had better be getting paid for it.

And I am.

The first half of this post surprises me. I didn't peg you as the dancing type at all. Glad to hear I was wrong. Dancing is guuuud.

I'm surprised too.

I like to dance, but only with a partner (ie: salsa). Otherwise, I feel too self-conscious. Unless I've had a drink or three beforehand, whereupon I'll dance all night long, no matter how stupid I look.

Silly folks. I don't dance in public. I have a reputation to uphold, dontcha know. Only a chosen few have seen me dance and lived to tell about it.

You were dancing at Meijer today.
Once, Srah was dancing around in her room. She called our Mom to come watch her. When we approached her room, she started singing and dancing to "Grant Avenue" from Flower Drum Song. Our Mom shut the door so that none of us would have to deal with the horror that is Srah dancing.

Sounds like you have a good job. I'd rather be paid to dance, with lots of other people dancing. It's far more fun dancing with other people...

If I may complain for a moment...

I miss the old days from Albion and France when you blogged a million times a day. I feel deprived.

Granted, this whole "growing up and working" thing kindof gets in the way. But still.

At any rate, you go (dancing) girl. Don't let them see you, or the whole world may learn your terrible secret.

I'm not working on any computer-based projects right now and computers and offices are at a premium while the building's under construction... so I don't have one. :(
