forgetting the important stuff
Srah asked why I went to Poitiers in the first place. I opened up a post cheerfully, thinking I would type all kinds of happy things.
I can't remember.
Seriously, I can't remember why I went to France the first time. I mean, I'm sure I didn't suddenly find myself there wondering where the heck I was. But I really have no clue how it all came about. I'll have to call my parents and see if they remember.
I can tell you this, though. I was originally going to be studying abroad for my senior year in high school. Instead, somewhere in my junior year, I decided to get the heck out of high school, so I busted my cute little bum and graduated early. However, the plans were still all set for me to go to the school in Poitiers and all, so I went anyway. I didn't have to do any of the classwork, or take the tests, or anything. Really, I was just a freeloader. I attended class or didn't, it was up to me. I stayed at the school or just spent my days wandering around the city. It was very surreal and I kept thinking that one day the authorities would catch up to me and realize that I wasn't accounted for in any way. I was kind of like a stowaway. It was cool.

That's fun. We had a Belgian exchange student in my high school class who'd already passed the Bac and was in the same sort of situation.
