The Wednesday Whimsy

If you could breathe underwater (and assuming that water pressure and temperature no longer negatively affected you), what would you do?
I would visit the Gungan city. Oh sorry, Katie puts me in a Star Wars mood. This question makes me think of those funny artificial breathy things Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan used in Episode I. I suppose I would use it to keep from drowning... I don't think it would make me go out on the water any more than I do.

You are an ocean spirit, and you can do whatever you wish with the mortals who cross over your part of the sea. What would you do with those unsuspecting travelers?
Reverse their genders, then turn them back once they float past my little part of the sea. I am a mischievous little ocean spirit.

You, a land faring person, have fallen in mutual love with a mermaid/merman. You could choose to become a mer-person, or he/she could choose to become human, but either choice would be permanent. Both of you have family, friends and lives in your homes. Do you stay together or not? Either way, how do you deal with the situation?
I think it would be quite difficult, as I know absolutely nothing of the merculture. But it would also be a learning experience. If my family could come visit me, I guess I'd be up for it.
