Prononcer palabras Denz was commenting about peanut butter ice cream
(blechhh!) and the idea of hard-to-find flavors reminded me that when my
family went to France this summer we had bergamot flavored ice cream in Nancy.
Bergamot is the flavo(u)ring in Earl Grey tea. Mmm. The first bite was
exquisite and it sort of went downhill from there. Disappointing. Is it
ber-ga-mo or ber-ga-mott? Yo no sé. I just flipped to my dictionary to
find the pronunciation (answer: it's not in there) and discovered they have
one of those security tags in there, stuck right in the middle of one of
the pages. Greaaaat. I very delicately removed it and managed not to lose
any words. My 2020-page 100 pound French/English dictionary tells me, as
far as I can make out from the phonemic characters, that the T is pronounced
both in French and English. That was what was confusing me - I was pretty
sure the T was pronounced in French but I wasn't sure if it was in English
as well. Thank you for joining my thought process.
