I would like to be

I would like to be noticed It's a silly complaint, but I'd like to
be recognized. The Physics Department has their seniors on display in the
hallway. I went to the Honors Convocation and watched the same people get
award after award for being outstanding in way or another, either academically
or in campus involvement. The "Cathy A. Young Award in French" may sound
impressive but you and I know it was 30 seconds of talking into a tape recorder.
It wasn't "The French Department appreciates all you have done in your four
years". I would like to feel special even though I haven't been invited
to join any honoraries. I would like to be recognized in some way. This
is partially for myself and partially for ISU being ignored at the Sleight
Leadership Awards. I feel sort of unappreciated. I know it's good to get
my diploma and all, but I'd like to think that I'm going to be remembered
in some way after I'm gone. Maybe this is Albion's way of saying "Graduate, get a high-paying job, give us a lot of money, and we'll name a building after you."

Sigh.
