Grandma
I'm wandering around my site, fixing things, adding other things, tweaking things...
I haven't looked at some of my Projects in years, but I always love to see this picture of my grandma at school. In some ways she looks a lot like I did when I was younger and in some ways I think she's a lot cuter.
My grandma is cool. My Tudor-Stuart England professor was talking about how grandparents and grandchildren are often similar because everyone tries to raise their children the opposite of the way they were raised. You can see that between my grandma and my sister, who tease and pick on each other all the time because they're so much alike.
She has a lot of interesting stories, too, that come from her parents divorcing and her mother taking her back to Germany in 1930, at age one. She was American citizen in Germany during and after WWII, then went to the U.S. as an American citizen who only spoke German. It must have been quite difficult. I'm proud of her.
