Opening Ceremonies
I caught a bit of last night's Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Salt Lake City.
Lots of silly-looking How The West Was Won (by dancing around to Copland's
"Rodeo", apparently), but I was happy because Olympic ceremonies are in French
and English (and the host language, right? It's been a while since Nagano) and I got to see 1968 Gold Medalists Peggy Fleming (carrying the flame) and Jean-Claude Killy (carrying the flag).
The first person to identify why 1968 is my favorite Olympics will get a gold star.
