Wafflez in teh Bathroom

adapted from The New Pillsbury Family Cookbook "Basic Waffles" recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup melted butter

Directions

Preheat waffle iron. Place egg yolks in large mixing bowl, whites in small bowl. To yolks add milk, beat well. Add baking powder, salt and flour; beat until smooth. Stir in melted butter. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form (electric mixer recommended!). Fold into batter. Bake in preheated waffle iron until waffle is golden brown.

For Spraguenitt Waffles: Replace milk with 1 small bottle of club soda (about 1 1/3 cups) and milk (about 2/3 cup).
