Snickerdoodles

from my mother's recipe

Ingredients

    Cookies
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Rolling mixture
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs and vanilla, stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough into balls using rounded teaspoon of dough for each. Roll balls in rolling mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are set.
