Summer is held at the wrong time of year. In Srahtown in the summer, there is suddenly an abundance of parking available. You can arrive late and still get a good spot. You can leave during the day, come back and park in the same spot... or a better one! It is glorious! Vive l'été! This is not the case the rest of the year. The rest of the year, there are fierce battles over parking spaces, with shivs and chains and tridents and suchlike. Academics in their tweed jackets and elbow patches hold their Very Academic Pipes in one...

("Those are the stupidest fist names I've ever heard.") Danny boy, don't be afraid, to shake that ass, and misbehave Danny boy, I know you got time, but what are you waiting for, Anyway the dust may just blow away, if you wait for a windy day But you may find the chance has passed you by; - "Sewn" by The Feeling, who are probably slightly more Irish than the author of "Danny Boy" because at least they've been to Ireland before There is a yearly tradition associated with Srahtown and The University I Work At, wherein local bars start...

I went to a hockey game last night because a friend had an extra ticket. The University I Work At was playing against Western Michigan, my friend's alma mater, although she's lived in Srahtown and had various connections to The University I Work at for years. So she had loyalty to both teams and I had loyalty to none at all, because although I work there, TUIWA has been battling the University of Michigan for the top of the league (and the top of the college hockey rankings altogether) all season. Once the game started, though, I started hoping for...

I am proud to have been a Bulldog/Mustang, a Roadrunner, a River Rat, a Briton and a Wolverine, because one thing that all of these schools had in common was that they never dressed anyone up in a stupid costume to dance around and seriously freak me out. Sports mascots are like clowns, but you can't even see their eyes so you never know when they're going to snap. (With clowns, at least you can see their eyes, so you can tell that they are going to snap and murder you... any minute now. It's... reassuring?) My usual reaction to...

Nick Lachey's Rolling Stone interview says that he graduated from a performing arts high school in Cincinnati then went on to major in Theater at USC. The article makes no mention of the fact that Nick later transferred to The University I Work At, where he was working toward a major in Sports Medicine when he left to join 98°. The University I Work At's second most famous non-graduate¹ is interviewed in Rolling Stone and we don't even get a mention! I call shenanigans! ––––– ¹ First....

*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!* This is the sound of the first step being taken to Srah Having An Office Of Her Very Own That Is Not Connected To The Kitchenette/Work Area In Such A Way That People Have To Walk Through Srah's Office To Make Tea or Send Faxes. Hurrah! But not so much for the Getting Work Done. There is talk that I may be relocated (maybe even to Working From Home!) during the construction. *BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!*...

Sorry I haven't blogged recently. My fingers have been frozen to various metallic objects. For verily, I hath movèd into the freezing rain belt, between Dayton's snow and Cincinnati's rain. Or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, we're in the middle and we get iced upon. The good thing about living in this weather is that after you've finished scraping your car out from under the layer of ice, you have the makings of a delicious sno-cone! The bad thing about living in this weather is that I lied about the first part and there is no good...
