Cletus: "Hey Brandine, you might could wear these to your job interview."Brandine: "And scuff up the topless dancin' runway? Naw, you best bring em back where from ya got 'em."Cletus: (tosses the boots back on the telephone line) "Back you go, to wait for a woman of less discriminatin' taste." I bought a new (navy blue, which my mom says is best for looking professional) suit for my job interviews. Alas, I have no shoes to match, so it looks like I'll have to buy another pair. Sigh. Life is so difficult, having to get shoes all the time and...

Please to visit So Joyful, where Katie has tackled the question, Why the heck do women need so many shoes? Katie did not want to post pictures of her shoe collection online, but that hasn't stopped someone we know from posting hers! Click on the picture to see the annotated version on Flickr....

When I looked through my closet there, I found shoes rarely worn by me; And so my blog would be less bare, I wished you all to see. I said "It's not a pair of heels, a pair of sneakers or a clog." It's necessary, Sarah feels, To show it on her blog. A pair of Docs? A pair of Docs, A most ingenious pair of Docs! I've got new loafers in their box, But none quite like this pair of Docs!...

I'm wearing my Converse today, just for a change. I wouldn't say that any of my shoes are particularly noisy, but my Converse are completely silent. I feel like I'm pitter-patting rather than walking and I have a new appreciation for the use of the word "sneaker" to refer to this kind of shoe. I bet Converse has special contracts to shoe* ninjas. ––––– * Clarification: This is the verb "to shoe" rather than a reference to shoe-ninjas. Although I think I might want to be a shoe-ninja when I grow up....

I got a huge chicken burrito as a parting gift. Swee.

I participated in a focus group today for a friend of mine, the focus of which* was the Influence of Hip-Hop Endorsements on Athletic Footwear Purchases. My answer was, 'It doesn't influence me at all because I'm only buying Converse from now on forever and ever.' I love my Converse. I did mention in the focus group that I knew who all the artists they mentioned were, but I didn't say that I don't really listen to their music. It appeared to me as I was driving home that I should have said something along the lines of "I listen...

As I've mentioned before, my group presentation in my Marketing Management class is going to be on Converse footwear. We've been having a bit of trouble deciding what route we want to go because it seems there are so many different people who like Converse for so many different reasons. It fits into a lot of niches and it's hard to market towards just one segment or belief. So I'm curious (and as long as I have all of those BlogExplosion people captive here for 30 seconds): What do you think of Converse shoes? What are the first things that...

So practical! I can wear them with anything!

I came to a point a few weeks ago where I realized I had enough shoes and I couldn't justify buying any others. There were no more shoes I needed. It was horrifying. What is there to live for, if not for the acquisition of shoes? Thankfully, my Marketing Management group has decided to do our December presentation on Converse™ footwear and have decided that we should all buy a pair of Converse™ to wear to the presentation. This resulted in a sizable portion of our Sunday meeting being devoted to surfing the Converse™ store and oohing and aaahing over...

Never say that my blog-posts are not important and deep. Heh. These are my favorite shoes. I don't know how long I've had them, but I know they were not new when I wore them trick-or-treating in ninth grade. So they must be at least ten years old by now. They are showing their age - the black suede is worn and turning grey - but I keep wearing them because I know I will never find anything like them again. They are comfortable, as any shoe would have to be to stand up to hours of door-to-door travelling on...

Do you follow fashion? Are you the kind of person whose shoes always match their purse or belt? Are you able to list off the new trends for this season? Because I so am not. I am so not. The problem with writing as you talk is that you write things that are ungrammatically correct grammatically incorrect so there is no right or wrong way because you're already doing it wrong. And things that sound fine out loud look stupid written down. Pardon the rambly tangent. So anyway, I really could probably get by in life with two pairs of...

Everyone and their brother and their kitchen sink has my shoes. I swear, no one had them until I bought them and now I see them everywhere I go. I'm going to start stealing them right off people's feet. Not that I'm recommending them or anything, but they're really quite comfortable and make a loud SLAP SLAP SLAPPing noise when you walk....

Ugly shoes

I own a pair of shoes that I bought just because they were ugly. They were on clearance, so they cost something like $4 and I couldn't pass up such cheap, ugly shoes. They are cream-colored heeled oxfords. I don't know what I was planning to do with them. Maybe use them in a Halloween costume. I've never worn them and only thought about them this morning because I came across them whilst digging in my closet. What have you bought and never used?...
