I haven't really had a good chunk of time today to sit down at a computer and do my obligatory blog-post on the one year anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. I still don't have a chunk of time, so I won't do the where I was and how I felt tonight. Maybe I won't at all. All I will say is that I don't feel this is my day for mourning. When it happened, I watched it and it was very tragic and I cried. When I watched the special on it on TV, I cried. But...

Something bothers me? Fancy that
You know what bothers me? When people call September 11th "nine-one-one". I don't like "nine-eleven" much better, but the "nine-one-one" just gets under my skin and it MAKES me comPLETEly inSANE. Ding ding ding ding ding! It's not even a year later, so it's hard to tell, but I wonder if that date will be forever poisoned in our minds. I heard something on the radio about a contest that ended on September 11th. My immediate thought was "Oooh, what bad taste". How ridiculous. Life can't just stop functioning just because of one date....

Disaster's in the air
It keeps coming and coming. We should attack Iraq. We should do it now. We shouldn't wait for support. Who cares if no one else agrees. We're America. We'll whup 'em like Daddy did and be out by Christmas. Etcetera etcetera etcetera. I think we're setting ourselves up for even bigger trouble. Instead of learning from September 11, we're making the same mistakes and worse ones on top of them. I'm glad I'll be out of the country, but I wish I could take the rest of you with me. Be safe while I'm gone, you guys....
