I have been struggling with my Arabic ever since classes started in the middle of August. It's like all of the vocabulary from my first year is floating around in my head, but I lost all of the connections over the summer. I will think of an Arabic word but it won't be connected to the meaning in English or the Arabic spelling. Or I'll remember how to spell a word, but not how to pronounce it or what it means. Or I will know that I should know how to say something in Arabic - that we learned it...

As I've mentioned before, my group presentation in my Marketing Management class is going to be on Converse footwear. We've been having a bit of trouble deciding what route we want to go because it seems there are so many different people who like Converse for so many different reasons. It fits into a lot of niches and it's hard to market towards just one segment or belief. I came to a point a few weeks ago where I realized I had enough shoes and I couldn't justify buying any others. There were no more shoes I needed. It was horrifying. What is there to live for, if not for the acquisition of shoes? Thankfully, my Marketing Management group has decided to do our December presentation on Converse™ footwear and have decided that we should all buy a pair of Converse™ to wear to the presentation. This resulted in a sizable portion of our Sunday meeting being devoted to surfing the Converse™ store and oohing and aaahing over...

I'm doing a take-home midterm tonight, and my parents have very considerately agreed not to watch DVDs that will distract me and make me come out and sit down on the couch and lose hours of valuable writing time. Unfortunately, they have chosen to occupy their time by cleaning out their closet. Which means that there are piles of bridesmaid dresses from the 1970s, when my mom was my age and size, just sitting around. And they are crying out to be tried on and laughed at. The H: drive has mysteriously disappeared. Greaaaaaat for all of us who are in the middle of something. Granted, mine was the new website design and not a term paper, but I thought it was important. 18 days. This graduation countdown is for all of the sleepless nights, staying up writing papers or working on projects. There aren't many, because I really like to sleep, but there have been a few and they usually consist of zombie-ing through the next day. Let's hope I don't have one tonight. I'm making good progress. Except for the fact that I'm blogging right now....
