In a very important marketing meeting

srah: When I was younger and I walked into a shoe store, I wasn't brand-loyal. I mean, I pretty much based my tennis shoe purchase on style and price. Performance was not an issue. Robin: Yeah, you were just going to stand there and wait to get hit by a dodgeball! It's hard to be cool when you hang around with people who have known you since you were five......

Encounters of the stranger and stranger kind

Roro and Mr B------ came back to my house after the Matrix movie and we sat around for a while, sitting around, eating pizza and talking to my parents. "Did I tell you I ran into (Best Friend from Elementary School) at work?" I asked my mom. "Yes, you did," she explained. "What's she doing now?" "I don't know. I guess she's going to travel somewhere sometime." We fell silent. Quite unexpectedly, Mr B------ piped up. "BFfES? She just graduated in the spring and she left this week to travel around Europe." We turned and stared at him for a...

Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of bein' a king?

Ever since I decided again that I want to write a novel, I've been coming up with ideas that sound so brilliant and innovating, I have to write them down. The problem is that when I walk away from them and come back a few hours later, I realize that they are the stupidest ideas anyone on the face of the Earth has ever imagined. Who the hell (besides Robin) wants to read a novel based on The Complete Works of Neil Diamond??? I think my dream will soon be abandoned again, only to resurface once more in a few...

Sat on a park bench like bookends

When we went to New York and met Robin's cousin, he thought it was weird and/or impressive that Cheryl, Robin and I had been friends since elementary school. Robin and I have been friends since we literally ran into each other at the kindergarten picnic, and Cheryl's mom and mine would go for walks together when they were pregnant with us. To me, it seems perfectly normal. We're friends since childhood. Don't other people keep in touch with old friends? If I didn't have old friends, who would I hang out with when I went home during vacations?...

Except for the names and a few other changes, my story's the same one

Robin, Cheryl and I went to Meijers last night, blasting the Road Trip CD Robin burned, which contains all the music we enjoyed on our trip to New York. I bet that you do not own a CD with 50 Cent, R. Kelly, Sean Paul and... Neil Diamond. Continue the entry for full track listing......

I dreamt last night that Robin and I were lurking around John Hannah's country home, trying to find things that belonged to him to quickly steal as souvenirs before he got home and caught us....

I made cookies

I made cookies last night with Robin and Harini. Harini is a skilled cookie artist - I just slap frosting on and move on to the next one. I suppose someone's just going to eat them so I shouldn't worry about art, but... whatever. I don't know what my point was. I don't even like frosting. Harini hasn't been sleeping or eating because her parents found out her older sister had had a non-Indian boyfriend, freaked out, and jumped on a plane a few days later to take her to India, husband-hunting. Somehow I find Viji finding a husband in...
