If you are a regular reader/commenter here, you may have noticed that each comment is accompanied by a little icon. There's my "camera in front of the face" icon or the grey default "commenter" icon. Some other commenters have their own icons, too. (You can see an example of other commenters' icons in use here.) This icon is called a Gravatar and is linked to your email address, so that when you leave a comment on a Gravatar-enabled blog using your Gravatar-linked email address, your Gravatar pops up next to your comment. I would have liked to have posted this...

Righty-o. I'm going to set about updating my Movable Type installation, then there may be some minor changes around here. With any luck, I will resurface in a few hours with the blog still intact and everything will be explained anon. Update: This is a lot more hassle than I thought and my Internet connection keeps going in and out. Grrr. I'll work on this later....

Movable Type 3.3 is supposedly coming out sometime today. The new version of the blog-publishing software will probably have many new features, but the only one I've paid attention to is a properly-working tag system, rather than an awkward plugin-based workaround. So look for a miserable, broken srah blah blah sometime soon as I slog my way through the upgrade process! (Or maybe, just maybe, it will be straightforward and I will get it right the first time. But don't get your hopes up.)...
